Frequency synthesizers are used for periodic signal synthesis with arbitrary frequency from signal of constant reference frequency. There’re some parameters of high-frequency synthesizers: - Output frequency range;
- Min. frequency step;
- Phase noise (dBc/Hz) at some offset from some specified central frequency;
- Frequency stability (long term, short term, ageing) – depends of reference oscillator;
- Harmonic level suppression;
- SFDR (except harmonics);
- Output signal level (or range).
